THE DREAM TICKET
If you’re looking for high class, high octane, 2yo with precocious speed .... Then a 24th January foaled, Mehmas colt out of a winning Showcasing mare is the dream ticket we’d suggest! Send the stunning, fabulous, loose moving colt to the multiple Royal Ascot and multiple Group 1 winning 2yo trainer Richard Fahey and the recipe is complete?
Tally Ho’s stallion MEHMAS was big in the news again. Having now sired 15th Group Winners and five individual Group 1 winners, most recently at The BREEDRS CUP JUVENILE TURF SPRINT when Magnum Force storms through the field to land the juvenile Grade 1. In the Group 1 National Stakes, it was Scorthy Champ who powered to victory, before VERTICAL BLUE landed the Group 1 Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac - Criterium des Pouliches on L'Arc de Triomphe weekend. His consistent daughter Believing keeps confirming her quality with another close 3rd in the Group 1 Prix de l'Abbaye after a fantastic season which inludes the Group 1 Nunthorpe, and a 2nd in the Group 1 Flying Five Stakes behind Bradsell. She is a Group 2 winner over course and distance in the Sapphire Stakes. Mehmas has sired 60 individual 2-year-old winners so far this season, also includes Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes scorer Aesterius, who added the Doncaster contest to his earlier Group 3 Prix d'Arenberg win.
Let’s not just focus on the sires involved though, let’s extrapolate out to the distaff, analysing further why we could have a top class horse on our hands - let’s give a nod to ALWAYS THANKFUL, the winning Showcasing mare, from whence this gorgeous colt descends, she’s already produced the high class, black type performer NIBRAS ANGEL and she hails from a very speedy and classy family that contains over a dozen, close relative, Group performers.
£55,000 is a typical spend for us, to unearth a top class horse i.e. the middle market of £35,000 to £65,000 - a particular sweet spot for MPR - which includes CHAMPION EUROPEAN 2yo Toormore, Shouldvebeenaring, The Platinum Queen & The Strikin Viking to name but a few.

There’d be little surprise were this colt to come to hand super early. He possesses all the hallmarks that would make it possible. Furthermore, mid-season York or Ascot targets with a focus on Harry’s Half Million could clearly be on the agenda - none too shabby to be running in a race affording the winner £308,000 and even the 10th horse a considerable £15,410 remuneration. The lucrative Weatherby's Super Sprint another possible mid-summer target. The perfect recipe, offering his owners, potentially, the dream festival ticket for 2025, not just any old ticket an oasis of festival opportunities to attend for his would be owners.
