The Emperor strikes back in Milan

Winner 81 of 2024: BRAVE EMPEROR, trained by Archie Watson and ridden by Luke Morris. ‘Group 3 Premio del Piazzale Memorial Enrico Camici’ over 1m ½f at San Siro, Milan.
Drawn in 2, it was an even break and Luke managed to get him into a prominent position, tracking the leader. Brave was travelling enthusiastically when turning for home, and with the main group racing in the middle of the track, leaning towards the nearside rail, Luke found himself in the lead with just 2f to go. But he kept on well, to fight off the late surge of the German horse and favourite Best Lightning and Italian contender Mr Darcy. This was the 11th victory overall, and incredible 4th Group 3 success for our gutsy globe trotting superstar. And all roads, now, lead back to Milan on the 10th of November, for the Group 2 Premio Vittorio Di Capua.

Syndicate Manger Tom Palin said after the race: "Congratulations on what was simply a brilliant victory from him yesterday in Italy. Luke reported that he felt like his old self again yesterday, getting out of the stalls a lot better and travelling with vigour and power, tanking through the race, and showing the most willing of attitudes in the final couple of furlongs to fend off all comers and recorded a rather staggering 4th Group 3 victory. I am delighted for the horse, as I’ve said on countless occasions, I’ve ran out of words to describe this dude, he’s fully entitled to legend status and if yesterday is anything to go by, he’s probably only half finished creating his legacy!"
Tom continued: "We’d like to look at letting him try to defend his crown in the valuable Group 2 over in Italy once again, the race is at Milan on Sunday 10th November and is worth 250,000 Euros. Well done once again, a mighty effort from the boy."
