A European 'Make All' Double!

WINNER 4 OF 2022: FIGHTER IN THE WIN, trained by Simone Brogi in France and ridden by Ioritz Mendizabel: 'The Prix d'Abere' Maiden Stakes, over 2,000m at Pau.
We co-own the son of Creative Cause, so he was running in Ecurie Pilarski's widely known silks. Having his second start, after placing 3rd on debut, at Lyon in September, the handsome bay colt really took the eye in the paddock. He was the pick by Laurent Barbarin, the French racing pundit, on Sky Sports Racing; he chose well, as he lead from start to finish!
He had to come across the field from the start to take the lead, but was not for passing. As the favourite came to challenge in the home straight, he stayed on well, with the two of them "blitzing the field" as the commentator remarked, pulling 6 lengths clear of the 3rd placed horse. He took home the €9,500 prize for his happy owners, which you can see in the attached photo.

WINNER 5 OF 2022: AIRSHOW, trained by Rod Millman and ridden by Ross Coakley: 'The Betway Handicap', over 6f at Southwell.
A winner last time out, the popular chesnut was reunited with Ross, who won twice with him last summer at Bath. They lined up in the outside draw, this time at Southwell and he made his usual quick start. Ross got him across before the bend and they pulled 3 lengths ahead. With ears pricked, the field began to work to catch him, so 2 furlongs from home, Ross got busy and although he edged right and faced a strong challenge inside the final furlong, he just held on to win by a 'short head' with the favourite in 2nd.

He is becoming an MPR legend, having now won 8 times. His form figures from April 2021 read 3327211242-11 and he achieved a career best Timeform rating of 90 yesterday! Timeform reported: "Followed up from last time, employing similar tactics back on tapeta, going right under pressure but finding enough to hang on once getting the rail to race against; made all, travelled fluently, ridden when hung right 1f out, dug deep under pressure, just held on.”
Ross said in his Sky Sports Racing interview after the race: "He's very game and has got a lot of natural speed. He's quick from the gates, so we were able to negate the wide draw without using too much petrol. He's a very versatile horse and is in a rich vein of form!"
The Racing Post reported: 'Red-hot Ross' "Ross Coakley also continued his amazing new year run when he notched his seventh winner this month aboard Airshow in the concluding 6f handicap. The short-head victory of the Rod Millman-trained seven-year-old enhanced Coakley's strike-rate to a staggering 54 per cent, with success coming from just 13 rides in the last two weeks."
Syndicate manager of both horses, Tim says: "Great to get our first double of the year and special to do it across two countries! Well done to both sets of owners - in fact one owner is in both syndicates, so plenty of champagne was flowing last evening. I really must pay credit to Rod Millman and his team, to have Airshow in the form of his life.”
