Winner 100 of 2024: MASTER TECHNICIAN, trained by Rod Millman, and ridden by Lewis Edmunds. ‘BetMGM: It's Showtime / EBF Restricted Novice Stakes’ over 7f at Lingfield.
We went into Lingfield with 2 runners, and a total of 99 winners on the board. First up was our heavily backed 2-year-old MASTER TECHNICIAN. He jumped well, and was always in a prominent position just behind the eventual runner-up. Turning for home, our son of Mastercraftsman made a decisive move and was well on top of his rival, with ½ furlong to go. Despite the penalty, Master Technician duly obliged and won in good style by 1 ¾ lengths and did provide us with our 100th winner for 2024.
Timeform rated his 2nd victory with a p82+, commenting: "Had the best form and didn't need to improve to land a second success in his first season, even under a penalty; chased leaders, pushed along over 2f out, led 1f out, kept up to work; he's consistent and should continue to give a good account."

A delighted Lewis Edmunds spoke to Hayley Moore from Sky Sports Racing in the winner's enclosure: "Congratulations to everyone at MPR on another 100 winners for the year! He made it look easy. He gave me a lovley ride around, and everything went very straightforward. Delighted to be back on him after I got to ride him on his first two starts. He just keeps strenghtening and improving. He found this very easy today, despite carrying a penalty. A strong performance by the horse, it's always a big ask for 2-year-olds to win under topweight. Well done everyone - Happy New Year!"

Winner 101 of 2024: REBEL EMPIRE, trained by Richard Hannon, and ridden by Tyrese Cameron (7). ‘£30 In Free Bets With BetUK Handicap’ over 6f at Lingfield.
After his impressive victory a fortnight ago, and a close 2nd place two days prior at Southwell, Rebel Empire went off second favourite, under young apprentice Tyrese Cameron. A good start from stall 5 saw the pair in a prominent position. Travelling strongly into the home straight, he picked up well once asked by his jockey and went clear inside the final furlong to win by an impressive 2 ½ lengths. A fantastic effort by our 3-year-old, who has kept improving since his return, and has now won and finished 2nd in his last three starts.

Timeform rated his impressive success with a p88+, saying: "Turned out again quickly, had the benefit of a 7-lb claimer in the saddle this time and went one better than last time in impressive fashion, settling things quickly once hitting the front; chased leaders, angled out and quickened to lead inside final 1f, drew clear, comfortably; he holds an entry at Southwell on Saturday and connections may well be keen to get him out there under a penalty while he's in this sort of form."
Read what Tyrese had to say after the race: "He ran very well today. It was pretty much push-button. I tried to get him between horses, rather than going wide, but I wanted to keep him in a nice rhythm, and let him use his stride early, as he sees the 6f out strongly. He is in fantastic order, backed up from his last two runs very well and still seems fresh. A great effort by the horse. Well done everyone!"
Syndicates Manager Tim Palin on his 2nd victory:
"Well done on yet another success from your horse, and - I thought - a very cool ride from young Tyrese. They got on well together, and he delivered very much on what we have asked him to do. Lingfield can be tricky to navigate, but he did that particularly well, didn't he. Fantastic effort from Rebel Empire, who seems in brilliant form."
