Earthlight ex Iffa Red filly
Race entries
Training update: She had a small setback, common in juveniles. She had some time off and was on 'the easy list' to grow and fully strengthen up. She has now moved to Richard Faheys and is enjoying her daily routine.
BIOGRAPHY: This filly is by the Group 1 Prix Morny & Middle Park winning, first season sire EARTHLIGHT, whose first runners have come out strong - he currently has a 30% winners to runners strike rate, which is pretty good going! You can read a piece in the gallery about him, by Racing Post Bloodstock.
This filly was as nice an individual as we saw all day, she actually looks like a colt, great size, strong, well muscled, fairly compact but with scope too. She moves like a dream, marches along with great purpose and a loose movement and stride pattern. She’s everything you’d look for in a yearling who’ll make up into a precocious 2yo. She’d be set for and April or May debut, we’d imagine. Her dam has produced 2 winners from 2 (catalogue update is the 2yo is now a winner - from just 2 runs) so she’s a flawless record from her progeny, including a progressive 3yo. The mare’s progeny are both sprinters so this filly is bred speed on speed, and she’s ideal, we thought, for Richard Fahey to train. She’s the typical budget that most of our top class horses have cost ie from the ‘middle market’ in this filly’s case, 52,000gns.
