Winner 43 of 2024: AN OUTLAW’S GRACE, trained by Richard Hannon and ridden by Sean Levey. The 'Byerley Stud Peter & Virginia Walwyn Memorial British EBF Novice Stakes' over 6f at Salisbury.
After a brilliant stable visit on Saturday, where we got to see An Outlaw's Grace, some owners decided to stay the weekend down south and headed to Salisbury Racecourse for his debut.
Drawn out on the wing of the field, An Outlaw’s Grace jumped well and was able to slot in nicely behind the leaders. He travelled strongly into the race and showed a little greenness inside the final furlong, but once Sean committed, he was quickly ahead of his rivals and was firmly on top at the finish. An impressive winner who justified his early closing Group 1 Phoenix Stakes entry.

Time Form rated his performance with an 81+, saying: "Holds a Group 1 entry and duly delivered first time up having been strong in the betting, proving professional under pressure and not needing hard riding out to run down a couple with experience under their belts; in touch, travelled well, pushed along over 1f out, led final 1f, well on top finish: will stay 7f: sure to progress and win more races."
A very impressed Sean Levey spoke to Jess Stafford from Racing TV after the race:

A delighted Syndicate Manager Tim Palin: “We are very impressed with his performance; Richard always liked him, and we even gave him a Group 1 entry last week. We could play it safe and go somewhere under a penalty, or we could reach for the sky. It’s a very exciting time. Very well done to his owners and to Richard and his team at home.”
