Raymond Tusk will head to The Melbourne Cup

What a gorgeous four days racing on the Knavesmire and how proud we are of having had two runners in top flight races!
RAYMOND TUSK finished 4th in the £1million Ebor for RICHARD HANNON and recorded a career best performance according to Timeform, who gave him a rating of 122. Hitting trouble in the home straight he stayed on strongly under Jamie Spencer.
Having competed with credit in the Group 1 Ascot Gold Cup, the St Leger and the Coral Eclipse, our Group 2 winner has already given his 18 owners some thrills of a lifetime as a racehorse syndicate and earning over £250,000 of race prize money for them too! When we bought him as a yearling with Peter and Ross Doyle, as with all our yearling purchases, the dreaming started and he is once again testament to the fact that for a 2.5% share purchase you can race at the very highest levels with our horses. See our new yearling purchases here.
His racing manager Tim Palin says "Having a runner in Australia’s 'race that stops the nation' has been a long held dream for many an MPR owner, and we are delighted to announce that we believe we finally have a live contender for their $8 million dollar, 3200-metre race. There’s been a huge groundswell of interest in Raymond from the Men (and women) Down Under, the substance of which has caused us to have a slight rethink about our original plans to run in the Group 1 Irish St Leger at Irish Champions’ Weekend. From the noted interest levels, it seems Everybody Loves Raymond down under, and he will commence his Southern Hemisphere journey during the second week of September, following a short break from his fabulous, and slightly unlucky, Ebor 4th place."
The $5m Stella Artois Caulfield Cup (2400m) and Melbourne Cups are Australia's premier staying races and we have Raymond nominated in both. Read more here: https://www.racing.com/news/2019-08-29/news-cups-nominations-released
COPPER KNIGHT finished a creditable 5th in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes for TIM EASTERBY:
” He’s run the race of his life.” – said his jockey David Allan after the race. His 5th place behind the course record breaking sprinter BATTAASH was a superb run and he continues to ply his trade at the top table! The plan is for him to run at Beverley on Saturday in the Listed Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes, once again partnered by David Allan, as long as Tim is happy with him and the ground stays on the easy side.
