Winner 63 of 2024: ZIGGY’S PHOENIX, trained by Richard Hannon and ridden by Kevin Stott. ‘White & Brooks Fillies Handicap’ over 1m at Goodwood.
A 4th victory for our daughter of Kodiac, purchased at the 2022 Goffs UK Premier yearling sale for only £43,000, which means, her earnings have already surpassed her purchase price. After a very unlucky run last time out at Ascot, Kevin Stott made very good use of draw 1, and sat box seat just behind the leading pair. Turning for home, Ziggy's Phoenix was still travelling strongly with the cutaway presenting a perfect opportunity for a smooth way through. Once she hit the front, she always looked the winner, seeing the race out well to win gamely.
