Marie's Diamond takes 2nd in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood
Fri 03 Aug 2018
Yet another super run by 2 year old MARIE'S DIAMOND and good to see his owners loyalty rewarded by 2nd place in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood yesterday.
Thankfully he is fine after his run, after Mark reported that he got squeezed out of the stalls and knocked a front fetlock, which resulted in him being slowly into stride. It was another excellent performance and if things had gone right for him at the start, he could well have won. Silvestre De Sousa reported that he was moving poorly in the first couple of furlongs – whether that was due to being bumped or the downhill track or a bit of both, we’re not sure, but it left him with plenty to do and he made a valiant attempt at trying to do it.
It’s likely we’ll head to the Prix Morny next and we’re happy to take on Land Force again on a course that would certainly suit our colt.
