Lexington Dash wins impressively again at HQ - our 26th winner of the year

LEXINGTON DASH, trained by Richard Hannon, in the Class 2 Betway Handicap Stakes, over 6f at Newmarket (Rowley Mile.)

He's won cosily now both times at Newmarket in the space of 8 days and both times by over 3 lengths. The handicapper gave him a 10lb hike in the weights from last Saturday, partialy negated yesterday by the 5lbs claimed by Thore Hammer Hansen. It was a cool ride by the talented apprentice: "They went off fast and I decided to tuck him in," he said in interview after the race. "He was always travelling like the best horse in the race and I knew I was going to get there easily. I rode him on his first start and liked him then." See a Sporting Life article in the gallery.

Tim Palin, his syndicate manager says "I was delighted to see him back up what he did a week previously and we have a valuable race in mind for his next start, which I alerted his owners to this morning. I'm delighted for them and you've got to tip your hat to Richard Hannon and team, as 46% of our runners from the yard have finished 1st or 2nd this year!"

This time last year, we purchased him at the Osarus Breeze Up sale in France, in conjunction with top bloodstock agent Nicolas de Watrigant and he has so far rewarded his owners with form figures of 2, 4, 2, 1, 1. He is a colt who looks to be going places; earning a career best Timeform rating of 105 for his Class 2 win yesterday with a 'p' after his rating, suggesting there's improvement to come.
