Embrace The 'Winning' Moment!
Tue 16 Jun 2020
Winner 22 of the year - EMBRACE THE MOMENT, trained by Ian Williams and ridden by Ben Curtis, at Pontefract, in the 1m 2f Handicap.
A well deserved win yesterday for her loyal owners and she did it with authority too!
Ian thought he had her in great shape and she looked in fine fettle as we watched her on Racing TV. She was ridden prominently throughout by Ben and with 3 furlongs to go, he began to shake the reins and coming around the final bend, she put her lovely long stride to good use. Going on to lead over 1f out, she ran on really well, with a great determined head carriage, pulling 3 lengths away from the field.
Syndicate manager Tim Palin says: "She put the race to bed nicely and we think there's more to come from her. I am thrilled for her owners and thank Ian for the work he has done with her. She's a well bred filly, by Le Havre out of a Sadler's Wells mare and for her to get her win is well deserved. She has been in the winners enclosure on 7 occasions from her 11 races so was knocking on the door! Well done to her syndicate."

There was also yet another super run in 2nd, by CITYZEN SERG, although the phrase "bumped into one" couldn't be more apt at Kempton yesterday! The Godolphin owned Yuri Gagarin flew home and looks a Group class horse. Serg was unlucky not to win on debut, being denied on the line, but we'll take two 2nd places for now and look for something for his next start in July.
All eyes are now on Royal Ascot - with 5 horses declared to run, there's just the Saturday declarations to go tomorrow - where we have three in the Wokingham..
