Bond has them 'Shaken and Stirred' at Newcastle!

RED BOND (Keith Dalgleish) - 1m Class 4 handicap at Newcastle, ridden by Callum Rodriguez.
We wanted to have a look at Red Bond over a stiff mile, just to see if that was an option for him in the future and the answer was clear to see! He broke well and headed the field up the centre of the course and with ears pricked was enjoying himself bowling along. At the 2 pole, Callum asked him to quicken and he pulled away in very taking fashion, putting 8.5 lengths back to the 2nd placed horse. "I gave him a kick to put the race to bed and I thought oh no, he wasn't stopping! Then we got all the way down the back before I could pull him up" Callum told his owners after the race!
We have given him an entry in the Lincoln, with a view to running in the Spring Mile consolation race and that now looks a good move. Timeform rated this win as a career best 102.
It was a third career win for the son of Red Jazz. We purchased him at the Goffs Silver Sale as a yearling for £10,000 and last evening he won over half of that back from this race alone!
Many congratulations to his owners.

Tim Palin was in attendance from the team and was pleased to be able to share the winners champagne with Red Bond's owners (see the gallery). "It was a good evening at Gosforth Park, as our runners also took a 2nd (Elusive Heights), 3rd (Beechwood Jim Bob) and 4th (Castlehill Retreat.) It's always preferable to be walking with owners in the direction of the winners' enclosure at the races! Good to get our 6th winner of the year on the board too, as that takes us ahead of this time last year."
