Boitron is an impressive winner on debut

There was some media interest in BOITRON before he made his debut at Newbury yesterday. You can read the article here: https://www.racingpost.com/bloodstock/bloodstock-latest/first-runner-for-middleham-park-racing-and-augustin-normand-tie-up/338624
It's no secret that we have an affinity with LE HAVRE progeny, now having five in training with Richard Hannon and as you can see from the article, this colt took not only our eye at the sale, but Monsieur Augustin-Normand (who owns Le Havre) was also taken, hence we own him together.
The market had him as third favourite at Newbury in the 6f novice and Richard was sure that he would be seen at best over 7 furlongs, so we were hoping for a good introduction. He did look extremely well in the paddock and as we watched him travel sweetly down to the start, we just hoped he would be able to make "the winners enclosure."
However, he missed the break and ended up at the rear of the field and although travelling away nicely, he was still detached at half way. Pat Dobbs was patient though and when he asked him to quicken, he came there strongly under hands and heels, worked his way past and through the field and won by 4 1/2 lengths, with plenty in hand.
Richard said "He is a lovely colt who we have always liked. He got a long way back but came there really impressively to win nicely. He is a son of Le Havre and we have had a lot of luck with this stallion. He will continue to progress and so we need to make a plan with Tim {MPR syndicate manager} going forward."
There was plenty of whooping from his owners as they returned to the winners position, because he won so impressively, despite still being green. A colt to be very excited about this season and beyond! Well done everyone.
Our fourth 2yo to win on debut, we have now had eleven win this season so far.
