Another Day, Another Winner!

WINNER 64 OF 2022: TOTHENINES, trained by Karl Burke and ridden by Pierre-Louis Jamin (-3): 'The Betting.Bet Maiden Stakes' over 6f at Ripon.
Down to 6f, having been tried over 7f in his last couple of starts, the market had him marked up as joint favourite. Drawn on the inner in 8, he suddenly ducked to the left as he came out of the stalls and hit the rail - Pierre-Louis did really well to stay in the saddle. This left him in the rear, as the commentator remarked 'many lengths behind.' He soon made up the lost ground and switched right, he became more prominent as they came to the last 3 furlongs. Pushed along, he took the lead 1f out and kept on readily, to win by a length.
Our other runner Phoenix Beach ran well to place 3rd on his second start too and the other grey running for us on the card, Fairmac, finished 2nd in the race before this one.
"Tothenines overcomes what he did at the start." Watch the full race replay here: https://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Ripon/15-June-2022/2040
More delighted owners...!
Timeform rated it as a career best 82 rating, saying: "Claimer ridden, came out on top at the 5th attempt after just 7 days off, doing well under the circumstances given the hash he made of the start; dived left leaving stalls, in rear, raced freely, headway out wide halfway, led over 1f out, edged left, kept going well.”

Syndicate manager Mike says: "Well done to his owners on his win! He nearly contrived to throw it away at the start. You often see horses jump into open space from the stalls but very rarely see one jump into the rails! He looked all speed yesterday and got back in to contention travelling very easily and given that he made up plenty of ground early in the race he did well to be as strong through the line as he was."
Some of you may have noticed that we had a rather spectacular day at Royal Ascot too....
We will do a complete review at the end of the Royal Ascot meeting, as we still have DYNAMIC FORCE running on Friday and VENTURA DIAMOND, DUBAI STATION and VENTURA TORMENTA, due to line up on Saturday.
We are still rather giddy!!
