Purchased at the Goffs UK Breeze Up sale, this colt is by PROFITABLE.
A slightly under the radar stallion is Profitable, which may explain why we secured this colt for a very very reasonable, we thought, £58,000, at the recent Goffs Uk Breeze Up Sale in late April, having posted the 23rd fastest time of the day’s 200+ breezers. However, we thought that, visually, his breeze was second to none, showing great action, stride, head carriage and determination - everything we look for, so we were very keen to secure him, especially when we went to see him, post breeze.

He has quite a short neck and wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea in the looks department therefore, but there are no prize monies awarded for looks, merely for how quickly horses can gallop from A to B, and he’s proven pretty darn good at that, it would seem.
Shortly after we purchased him, we were approached by the renowned master of Ballyhane Stud Ireland, Joe Foley, only for him to say, “I thought your Profitable colt was ‘the breeze of the day’ “ and furthermore, ace bloodstock agent Federico Barberini came over later to say, “there have been two bargains here today, and you have purchased them both - your Profitable colt being one of them”. Two shrewd judges as well as ourselves, all, firmly on board with this super, value for money, buy.
He heads to David O’Meara who is fabulous at eking out every ounce of any horse’s ability and we’d hope to see him debut sometime in May, just this side of Royal Ascot, timescale wise.
Training update: An exciting Breeze Up acquisition in the Spring. Second on debut, he headed to post, trading as favourite to break his maiden tag at the second time of asking. However, he pulled up lame as he arrived at the start and had to be withdrawn. The problem turned out to be a bone bruise to the foot which turned out to be quite deep seated and took, what seemed, an eternity to come right. He’s right as rain now and just on a small break. We’ll fire him up for the end of the AW season and he’s a very exciting 3yo for next year’s turf season. You’d like to think a sure-fire future winner who could take his owners to some very exciting days out.

2nd May, David sent us this video, with a narrated update on him.
