WINNER 71 OF 2023: SERGEANT PEP, trained by Clive Cox and ridden by John Fahy: The 'Fitzdares Is Your Personal Bookmaker Handicap' over 5f at Windsor.
Syndicate manager Tom had been in discussion with Clive, to take him back down to 5f, after campaigning over 6f since January.
Breaking well, he was prominent, disputing the lead for the first furlong, then settling into second. Making headway, he took the lead inside the final furlong and ran on well, to win by 1 and a 1/4 lengths.

Timeform rated it as a career best 87 performance, saying: "Produced a career best to resume winning ways, having no issue with the drop back to 5f despite having shaped in contrast on occasions previously; prominent, challenged over 1f out, led final 1f, ridden out.”
