Waarif is our second winner at the Ayr Gold Cup Festival

Two Ayr Gold Cup Festival winners in some very competitive races is just marvellous! We were joint top winning owners at the meeting, alongside Clipper Logistics.

After winning the 5f Sprint on Thursday with our Richard Fahey trained MILITIA, yesterday it was back to back wins in the £30k Class 2 race over the mile, for the David O'Meara trained WAARIF.

Drawn 9 of 10, he was trapped three wide around the bend and that got us worrying, but he coasted into the straight under Danny Tudhope. He was his usual battling self in the final couple of furlongs and the photos of him (see the gallery) in the final furlong with his ears pinned back is just him - really giving his all, but then pricking his ears on the line! Timeform have provisionally rated his run 107, which would be a career best, so he clearly retains his ability. 
The yard report that he’s fine this morning, so we'll see what the handicapper does and make a plan for him then. There were amazing scenes captured on ITV Racing - we are all over the moon! Well done to his owners and team David O'Meara and thank you to Danny for a superb ride. It’s nice when a plan comes together!

And to finish with two good 4th place runs from the Keith Dalgleish pair of HOWZER BLACK and BEECHWOOD JUDE on the day at Ayr, was a lovely bonus.

Thank you to every single owner who joined us at Ayr this week. A stupendous 68 in our total party on Saturday is just wonderful support for the horses and what fun was had! Thank you also to Ayr for a wonderful meeting.

We finished a great day with another winner - this time from the David Lanigan trained GOLD ARCH. He is now an amazing 3 from 3 over C&D (1m 4f) at Wolverhampton and really asserted in the home straight, pulling away by 2 lengths under Shane Kelly. Many thanks to David, Shane and congratulations to his owners.

A nice 2nd place earlier in the day too from LEXINGTON REBEL at Chelmsford for Richard Hannon, gave us and owners plenty to be pleased about yesterday.
