Thank you Royal Ascot - we adore you.

What an eventful week it was at Royal Ascot! Torrential rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, the reappearance of sunshine on Thursday and the final two days in glorious sunshine. Ground changes causing trainers and owners to re consider running (including ourselves and Richard Hannon with Leroy Leroy on Thursday) and of course the headline makers: Frankie Dettori, Hayley Turner, Stradivarius and Blue Point. We were thrilled also for Danny Tudhope, who had a stellar meeting! Here's the Racing Post story: https://www.racingpost.com/news/royal-ascot/shining-stars-nine-names-who-made-this-year-s-royal-ascot-resplendent/386942
We began the week with seven entries at the Royal Meeting, however as well as LEROY LEROY being pulled out of the King George V due to the soft ground, two were balloted out of their planned races: ADMIRALITY (Roger Fell) from the Wokingham Stakes - he will now head to the Bunbury Cup and WAARIF (David O'Meara) didn't get into the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes, but instead ran at Ayr yesterday in the Class 2 and took a great 2nd place. He will probably now head to the John Smith's Cup at York.
VENTURA FLAME (Keith Dalgleish) Group 2 Queen Mary. She ended up being drawn on the wrong side, but ran a solid race to finish 5th on her side. She should be breaking her duck soon.
RAYMOND TUSK (Richard Hannon) ran his heart out in THE race of the meeting, the Gold Cup. He always gives his all and is so genuine, but this time he just didn't get the trip in this grade, although he tried all the way to the line, to take 7th place. He will now have a rest and return in the middle of August, just possibly in the £1,000,000 Ebor at York.
CLAY REGAZZONI (Keith Dalgleish) took 10th in the Listed Chesham Stakes, which was won in a course record time by Pinatubo. A horse we are familiar with, as our Tom Dascombe trained Genever Dragon met him on mutual debut! Clay couldn’t get any cover and ended up travelling too strongly to see out the stiff 7f.
MARIE'S DIAMOND (Mark Johnston) Group 3 Jersey Stakes. Frankie got off and apologised for going too fast and too soon and setting the race up for the closers. We’ve got 4 races that are in the melting pot for him to go to next...
We were very proud to see VENTURA REBEL run a fantastic race to finish a close second to A'Ali in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes on Thursday for Richard Fahey: Not bad for our 28k purchase! Read the full story about his private sale here: http://www.middlehamparkracing.net/news/view,ventura-rebel-brings-a-smile-to-the-faces-of-his-syndicate_2087.htm. Best of luck to his new owner Mr Abdullah Menahi for the rest of the season.
As ever, Ascot provided our owners with memories to cherish and we have loved seeing their photographs and reading about their excitement on social media and receiving their positive feedback. As a syndicate we are very proud to have had four runners, who all ran with credit and we look forward to doing it all again in 360 days time!
We have added a few of our favourite photos in the gallery..
