Red Risk routs the field at Ludlow
Fri 28 Feb 2020
RED RISK (Paul Nicholls), 2m 4f Novices' Limited Handicap Chase at Ludlow, ridden by Harry Cobden.
Red Risk was having his second start for us, after we purchased him at the Osarus sale in France at the end of October. We upped him in trip from 2 miles this time and he relished the test over the 17 fences to defy top weight. He jumped very well and travelled nicely close up. Around the fourth fence from home, he was going the best of the field and with two fences remaining, he went clear, with Harry just needing to push him out to the line, winning by an impressive 11 lengths.
Syndicate manager Tom Palin, who was in attendance says "He couldn't have been more impressive if he tried yesterday. I'm delighted that he has rewarded his owners on only his second start for us. In fact it was a first ever winner as an owner for some members of his syndicate, which is even nicer! We'll see what the handicapper does with his mark, but we have plenty of options for him going forward."
In the gallery, you can see an excerpt from the Racing Post, who award him the 'Performance Of The Day!' He recorded an RPR of 147 and Timeform rated the performance as a 142+

Many congratulations to his owners.
He is our 13th winner of the year, which means that we are 7 ahead of last year as of today, which is pretty good going from our All Weather and National Hunt runners. Well done to all our training teams and there's been some great race placement to pick up £90,000 of race prize money so far too!
