Quite a Saturday, as Boitron wins the Listed Denford Stakes and Waarif brings up the double
Sun 19 Aug 2018
We had a great day yesterday, as from our seven runners, the results were as follows:
BOITRON - WINNER of the Listed Denford Stakes at Newbury. Unbeaten from his three starts, he is now being lined up for Group 1 company. “Boitron is a very nice horse. Something like the Lagardère might suit. The Dewhurst is another option. We’ll work back from the Guineas” - said Richard Hannon after his impressive win. It was a milestone for our 2 year old cohort too, as he was our 20th 2 year old race winner this season.
RAYMOND TUSK - 2nd in the Group 3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury. He stayed on well having been impeded in his run in the final 1/2 furlong. After the race Richard Hannon told reporters that he would head to the St Leger. YOUSINI - 2nd in the Ripon Hornblower Conditions race. The results from his three starts read 112 and he has an entry in the Group 2 Gimcrack at York on Friday, as well as the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury in September.
WAARIF - A very gutsy WINNER of a Class 3 at Ripon, in what has been described as a masterful ride by David O'Meara's apprentice Conor McGovern! Having missed the break, all looked lost until Conor steered Waarif through the field to get up on the line, getting blocked not once, but twice! They have a great partnership, having won three of his last four starts together, including the Carlisle Bell.
INDOMENEO - 2nd in a Class 4. The ultra consistent Indomeneo ran another blinder and has given his owners some super races. 11 of his 16 starts in the winners enclosure with 5 wins.
Well done to all owners on another cracking Saturday!
Oh and that now leaves us with 20 winners to go to 1,000...
