Havana Good Day!

WINNER 46 OF 2022: MAYLANDSEA, trained by Michael Bell and ridden by David Egan: 'The British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes' over 5f at Nottingham.
We purchased Maylandsea with Nick Bell, at the Tattersalls Craven breeze up sale in April. Michael had reported that she was working well and ready to go, but of course, as she is 100% GBB Bonus qualified, we made sure that we declared her for the right race.
There was a lot of support in the market for her experienced rivals, but James Millman, who was at the track reporting for Racing TV, had her as his pick. Breaking well, she was prominent, but slightly taken off her feet early on. Making headway at the 2-pole, when David asked her for an effort, she moved into the lead over 1f out, running on inside the final furlong to win by 2 and a half lengths.
"It's Maylandsea who will make a winning debut here." Watch the full race replay here: https://www.racingtv.com/videos/watch/horse_racing_replays/391232-british-stallion-studs-ebf-maiden-fillies-stakes-5
Timeform rated it as an 81 performance, saying: "Speedily bred and a 6-figure buy at the breeze-ups, made a winning start in clear-cut fashion, another early success for first-season sire Havana Grey; close up, travelled fluently, headway to lead over 1f out, well on top finish; she's sure to progress.”

David said in his Racing TV interview: "I have sat on her at home and she has pleased us in her work, plus she is a very laid back filly. Once she started travelling, she took me into the race and finished nicely." He also said in this clip from Racing TV.......
The Racing Post reported: 'Hot Havana' "Havana Grey is leading the race for first-season sire honours on both earnings and winners, and Maylandsea added to his tally with an impressive debut victory in the 5f fillies' maiden."
Syndicate manager Tim says: "We are thrilled to win another GBB Bonus race this season - that is the third. Well done to Michael and her syndicate of owners. When a jockey gets off and says Royal Ascot, as David did in his interview, things get even more exciting. I will liaise with Michael and we will come up with a definitive plan for her. But to say that we are pleased to have bought more 2yos by Havana Grey than any other sire, is an understatement! As you can see in the gallery, he is leading the first crop sire table with 14 winners at the moment - 4 of those are ours!”
So that is now 5 juvenile winners from the 7 who have made their debut. We have some very happy owners here at #TeamMPR and we have welcomed plenty more in the last few days, as our racing form has been noted.
