Great results today, with 2 winners and two 2nd places

SOUTHERN ROCK is looking like a very good £30k HIT purchase for us, as today he won once again over course and distance at Hamilton. He sent ourselves and his owners on a roller-coaster ride in the feature race though; "Close up, led after 2f, headed over 2f out, soon outpaced, rallied and regained lead inside final furlong, kept on strongly." He is now 2 from 2 since joining David O'Meara and looks like he will give his owners a fun season.
Earlier on the card, we saw ONE HART, our Mark Johnston 2yo son of Gutaifan make his debut. He was very green in the paddock and going down to the start and pulled during the race, also getting unbalanced, but through all this took a fine 2nd to the experienced favourite (who incidentally was beaten in it's previous race by Mark's Queen Mary winner.) He was picked out by the Racing Post as their eye-catcher from the card (see the gallery) AND by Racing TV!
At Ripon in the evening we had two horses lined up in the Apprentice Selling Handicap: VENTURA BAY for Richard Fahey and MYKLACHI for David O'Meara. At the 3 furlong pole, Ventura Bay had the lead, but couldn't sustain his run and at the 1 furlong pole, couldn't quicken, which left the door open for the fast finishing Myklachi under a great George Bass ride to pass him and win, with Ventura Bay holding on to 2nd. We brought both horses home with us rather than let them go.
A nice double on the day from the David O'Meara team - well done and congratulations to all owners!
