Go Chique Does it in Style!
Wed 14 Apr 2021
OUR 16th WINNER OF 2021: GO CHIQUE, trained by Nicky Henderson OBE and ridden by Nico de Boinville: 'The Join Southwell Golf Club Handicap Hurdle' over 3m 1/2f at Southwell.
Go Chique won a bumper on debut at Southwell at the start of this season and then began her hurdling career. Taking a 4 furlong step up in trip yesterday, back at the track, showed that the daughter of Crillon is a thorough stayer! Nico had her midfield travelling nicely needing to swerve horses that made mistakes or were tiring at times. As the field began to falter around her, she smoothly moved second 2 from home. As Nico asked her to quicken, she went on to take the lead before the final hurdle and , stayed on well in the run-in, to win comfortably by 3 3/4 lengths.

Nico was very pleased in his video review for her owners, saying: "She has run a cracking race and really aappreciatedthe step up in trip and the top of the ground. I was really impressed with her and there's plenty more to come. Let's keep riding that good wave!"
Timeform have given her a career best rating of 113, saying as part of their commentary: "Showed improved form to get off the mark, well suited by the relative emphasis on speed on the trip; she's likely to go well again next time on similar ground."
Syndicate manager Tom says: "Well done to her owners on their 2nd win this season with her! That was a brilliant performance for her and it seems that the step up to 3 miles worked and I do think the better ground has helped as well. This combination of things have rewarded her with that wonderful performance."
Keeping to the National Hunt fever, the owners of FIVEANDTWENTY are looking forward to the Grade 3 Juvenile hurdle at Cheltenham tomorrow. Good luck everyone and enjoy yet another exciting day out. It's so far been a wonderfully exciting week for our owners across both codes and the social media excitement and gratitude for being 'back racing' is super to see.
