Winner 65 of 2024: PINK DIESEL, trained by George Boughey and ridden by Tommy Jakes (5): ‘EBF Fillies' Restricted Novice Stakes’ over 6f at Chelmsford.
After her encouraging debut at Newmarket 10 days ago, she was green in the early stages but came through well late and stayed on gamely to finish 3rd in a class 4 Novice over 7f against two possibly smart fillies, owned by Godolphin and Sheik Ahmed Al Maktoum respectively.
She broke smartly today, got a nice position just behind the leading pair and was travelling strongly throughout the race. Turning for home, she made good headway but got bumped inside the final furlong when challenged by the eventual 2nd and 3rd. She showed a great attitude to overcome the interference and was strong through the line to record her first victory.
