Winner 61 of 2024: GALACTIC CHARM, trained by Michael Bell and ridden by Oisin Murphy. ‘Patrick B Doyle Construction Ltd Handicap’ over 1m4f at Newmarket.
Another Saturday Winner !! After a good third on his last outing in Sandown, staying on nicely over a shorter distance on that day, we were hopeful that the July Course and trip would suit him well. Catching the eye in the paddock prior to the race, looking magnificent, and being full of himself, Galactic Charm jumped well, but Oisin was able to get cover and settled him at the rear of the field. He travelled strongly throughout the race, and besides a bump of the eventual third, he was able to dispute the lead 2 furlongs from home before drawing clear 1f out to win impressively by 5 lengths and provide Oisin Murphy with a memorable 4timer.

Timeform rated his maiden victory with a 91, saying: "Held up, travelled well, headway approaching 4f out, bumped under 3f out, led 2f out, shaken up over 1f out, edged right, drew clear approaching final 1f, eased close home."
Oisin Murphy told us after the race: "He was very straight forward, settled nicely and picked up when I asked him to. The way he carried me into the final furlong was briliant and I believe 1m4f is the perfect trip. He handled the track well and won impressively in the end. Well done to all his owners, he has been so consistend. Well deseverd."
