He performed fabulously well at the Guineas Breeze Ups last April, which was particularly surprising considering his middle distance pedigree, being by a Derby winner, a proven indicator of considerable innate ability. Given he’s a giant of a horse, it was little surprise that he didn’t progress in the immediate aftermath of the Breeze Ups - the process had taken quite a lot out of him physically, clearly. Hence, we decided to curtail his 2yo career, by achieving a handicap mark, a very favourable one, and put him away for a middle distance career as a 3yo. That patience has now already paid dividends going into the new season, and everyone’s patience, ought to be rewarded. Given the innate ability we’ve already seen at the Breeze Ups, and a first win under his belt, he could operate on a steep upward trajectory in 2025. His race entries and declarations will show on this page. WINNER Van Aert wins under a strong ride from @HollieDoyle1 at Kempton.
