Beautifully bred and perfectly formed, this lightly raced filly by Lope de Vega, could end up a bargain buy for 9,500gns from the Tattersalls July Sale, given she’s ever so lightly raced, and now qualifies, for the first time, for a handicap mark - she can start life with us from a perfectly feasible mark, and hopefully progress significantly over the coming months.
We can sell her in either December at the mares’ sale or race between the Summer and February and present her for sale, following an All Weather campaign - she’s a medium term project.
Kept in training as a 4yo by Ballydoyle connections, they must have had a fair degree of faith in her to retain her at 4yo. Obviously she’s not quite come up to their very lofty scratch, so we could just be the beneficiaries of a very well handicapped, very well bred filly. We haven’t had to pay a huge sum to have a look at the ‘handicap cards’ we’ve been dealt, given she comes recommended to Sam Haggas by Joseph Obrien and his team.
It’ll be fascinating to see if we can eke out those purple genes to a situation where she looks particularly well bought.
