Nigel Tinkler
Nigel purchased Woodlands Stables in 1982. He began with 10 stables and has now expanded to 70 boxes.
He is from a racing family and has trained well over 1000 winners, including 2 Cheltenham Festival winners, group winners on the flat and many prestigious handicaps.
Nigel was a jockey, rode his first winner at 15 and at 16 had ridden flat, hurdle and chase winners. He rode over 200 winners, including at Cheltenham and at the major meetings.
He started training in 1982 and for a time both trained and rode his own horses, and then decided to concentrate entirely on training.
Nigel’s wife Kim was a very successful jockey who now is a major part of the running of the stables.
