Winner 85 of the year is Castlehill Retreat

Trying 7 furlongs for the first time and having his first run at Newcastle, was no barrier to the son of Casamento getting his first win!

He was given a great ride by Paul Mulrennan, held up in centre of a group in the 14 runner field, he switched him to the far side over 1f out and when asked to quicken, he went on to lead inside the final furlong, but was soon challenged on the outside. Paul sat even lower in the saddle and urged him to keep up to his work and the pair held on well close home and had their head in front on the line in the photo finish.

Congratulations to his syndicate of owners, two of whom had their very first winner as an owner, so well done, that's just great!

Nice to get our 85th winner of the year on the board and with only 4 more to go to beat 2019, it's looking good!
