Ventura Flame Sparkles at Beverley
Sun 29 Aug 2021
WINNER 72 OF 2021: VENTURA FLAME, trained by Keith Dalgleish and ridden by Callum Rodriguez: 'The Constant Security Handicap' over 5f at Beverley.
A winner over course and distance in July, she was reunited with Callum back at sunny Beverley. Breaking well, she was to the fore on the rail and tracking the leader. As they passed the 2f marker, you could just see Callum in 'drive mode' waiting and waiting and waiting again for a gap to open! Her familiar sheepskin noseband sneaked through a gap and she made superb headway inside the final furlong to take the lead in the final strides, winning by a neck, from the favourite.

She really is a tough and tenacious daughter of Dandy Man; this being her 6th career win. She is yet another of our recent winners (6 in 5 days) to be awarded a career best Timeform rating! This time, of 86.
We are very glad to have purchased two new DANDY MAN yearlings at Goffs last week - one going to Keith and the other to Karl Burke.

Thank you to Beverley for the use of these photos and for looking after our owners so well - always lovely to see happy owners in the winners enclosure, especially on a Saturday, in front of a packed crowd with a great atmosphere.
Syndicate manager Mike says:"Well done to her owners on another win with her! The race panned out pretty much how we thought it would in the preview that I sent to owners. They were excellent efforts from both horse and jockey. We'd asked Callum to sit and wait for the gaps but it takes a bit of bottle to execute it and he did it to perfection. It was also brave from Ventura Flame and she didn't hesitate on going through when the gap appeared and she stuck on gamely in the final half furlong. It's not often that a race plays out how you envisaged it beforehand but it's very satisfying when it does!"
