The Warrior Wins Again!

WINNER 45 OF 2021: KAYFAST WARRIOR, trained by Tom Dascombe and ridden by Oliver Stammers (5): 'The Visit Attheraces.com Handicap' over 1m at Lingfield.
He came into the race yesterday, under a 6lb penalty for his win last time out, at Thirsk on June 30th. Up a furlong this time and remaining on the turf, the going description of 'heavy' was an unknown for him - with his win at Thirsk, coming on good to firm.
Oliver Stammers took 5lbs off and he was chalked up as favourite. Stall 1 was a positive and he broke well, moving to lead the field, bowling along in front and never saw a rival! Not needing to do much in the saddle to get there, Oli just shook the reins and he ran on to win by 4 1/4 lengths - once again, as last time, with his ears pricked as he ran towards the line!
His good year continues for his owners, with form figures of 2nd, 2nd, 3rd , 1st and 1st, so well done to team Dascombe and his owners.

In his post race interview on Sky Sports Racing, with Luke Harvey, Oliver said: "He has done it really nicely and with his ears pricked. Once I asked him, he put the race to bed nicely. The going is very testing, but he quite liked it. When horses are on a roll, like him, they can really improve."
Timeform awarded him with another career best rating of 76 and say:"Under a penalty after just 7 days off, improved again to follow up from Thirsk in emphatic fashion, testing ground clearly not a problem, and he seems to have turned over a new leaf of late; led, travelled fluently, kept on well straight, forged clear; will hold obvious claims of completing the hat-trick if turned out again near to hand."
Syndicate manager Tom says: "Well done to his owners - again! He handled the ground well and once again did that in a decisive manner. I felt Ollie gave him a positive yet sensible ride which helped him just assert himself on the race. I'm delighted for everyone that he's been able to continue his progression and hopefully there's plenty more still to come, as he is notching up career best runs and looks like he is enjoying himself in the process.
