Super Saturday delivers 2 winners

MENSEN ERNST got the day off to a flying start in France, with a win on debut for his new trainer Jean-Claude Rouget! He made all in the 1,900 m Maiden at Bordeaux Le Bouscat under Guillaume Trolley De Prevaux and stayed on nicely. His previous 3 runs in the UK were over 6 and 7 furlongs, but he seemed to enjoy the longer trip and he is yet another winner for us from the sire INTELLO. Now you can see why we have another yearling for next year by him! He qualifies for French Owner Premiums, having been purchased at the Arqana sale, so won in excess of £12,000. During the afternoon, we saw a super run from INDOMENEO who made all the running at Redcar, really enjoying himself, ears pricked, only to be caught near the line by his stable companion! STAR SHIELD continued his excellent season, with a 3rd in the Class 2, just finding the heavy going a hindrance to his usual fast finish. Since June his form figures read 31215223. Two other winners' enclosure performances during the afternoon also, from GOT THE T SHIRT on his second start and LEXINGTON QUEST.

Then we finished the day with a superb win on debut by the Mark Johnston trained SAN RAFAEL. Purchased this time last year at the Goffs Orby sale, the son of TAMAYUZ: "Made virtually all, ridden 2f out, held on well final furlong,"  in the 7 furlong novice at Wolverhampton, under John Egan. John got off and said he was smitten with him! It was an impressive performance and he is yet another of our Mark Johnston trained yearling purchases to have produced a nice start to their racing careers with us.
