Raymond Tusk wins the Listed Glasgow Stakes and Waarif makes it a quick-fire double!
Sat 21 Jul 2018
The plan is coming together...
RAYMOND TUSK won the Listed Glasgow Stakes readily under Phillip Makin for Richard Hannon last evening, by 21/2 lengths. We had ideally wanted some of the forecast rain, but Richard was happy how the ground was riding and he won the race very nicely in the end.
This means that our silks will once again grace the famous plinth at Hamilton and replace the current yellow and black polka dot silks of Postponed! Ventura Storm won this race in 2016 and it is their feature race of the season, with a rather gorgeous gold cup that goes with it (see the gallery).
Ventura Storm went on to be 2nd in the St Leger and that's the race we have on the agenda for Raymond Tusk, taking in the race also won by 'Stormy' at Deauville en route: The Prix de Reux.
5 minutes later WAARIF brought up a quick-fire double for us!
Making all under Conor McGovern, Waarif followed up his superb win in the Carlisle Bell for David O'Meara. He has earnt £38,800 from these two wins alone for his owners, which is pleasing considering we bought him for 23,000gns from Tattersalls.
He was our 49th winner of the year, so Saturday's target is the BIG 50!
Congratulations to both syndicates on your valuable wins.
