Timeform rated it as a career best 79+, saying: "After just 3 days off, showed much improved form to get off the mark, seen to good advantage from the front; made all, shaken up over 2f out, kept on final 1f."
A lovely bonus earned too! That's our 5th €10,000 IRB Voucher to spend at the sales..
Alec said in his Racing TV interview: "She ran well last time, but I wasn't expecting that. She came from the breeze ups and was a bit hot headed, but she is a nice filly to ride now; is more straightforward and has learnt a lot. When she saw the other horse come to her, she went again and is very game. Middleham Park Racing are great supporters of the yard and I'm delighted to ride a winner for them.”
WINNER 91 OF 2022: CUBAN MISTRESS, trained by Rod Millman and ridden by Ross Coakley: The feature LISTED 'Betvictor St Hugh's Stakes' over 5f at Newbury.
The feature on the card, there was a competitive field of 10 lining up. Drawn in 5 and with her usual sheepskin noseband, she was easy to spot as the gates opened. She shot out of the stalls and immediately hit the front. Ross pushed her along 2f out and she fought off the challengers, keeping on well, to win by 3/4 of a length.

Timeform rated it as a career best 94, saying: "Proved better than ever, reverted to front running under conditions which suited such tactics, likely seen to maximum advantage; led, shaken up 2f out, kept on well final 1f, ridden out; she'd have to find a bit more in something like the Flying Childers.”
Rod was there and he said in his Racing TV interview: "We tried 6f last time and she didn't stay. Ross knows her very well and she is a pleasure to train. She has a high cruising speed and is tough, taking her races well. We will stick to 5f and could look at The Cornwallis with her."

Syndicate manager of both horses, Tim says: "Delighted for both fillies and their owners. Hoof It Hoof It has found her feet and Cuban Mistress deserves that Listed win - she already has black type from her 2nd in the Listed Dragon Stakes, but winning black type looks even better on her page!
That's now 17 2-year-old winners' and I am now in Deauville at the first of the yearling sales, looking for our 2023 juveniles. We hope to welcome you onboard!”
