WINNER 11 OF 2022: FIGHTER IN THE WIN, trained by Simone Brogi in France and ridden by Ioritz Mendizabel: 'The Prix de la Mediterranee', over 2,000m at Cagnes-sur-Mer.
As we mentioned in our previous winners' write up, after his victory last time out at Pau, we co-own this horse, so he was running in Ecurie Pilarski's well known red and black silks. The handsome bay colt took the eye once again in the paddock and was this time chalked up as favourite.
Drawn in the centre of the field, he moved to the front with ease in the first 100yds. Stretching out with ears pricked, one after the other, the field in behind started to come off the bridle and nothing could get to him. He passed the line to win by a length, taking home the €11,000 prize.

Syndicate manager Tim says: "Congratulations to his owners on his back-to-back victories. He got a good ride by Ioritz and looks an improving horse and has certainly sharpened up. I see that Timform have given him a career best 85 for this and Simone has an eye now on a better class race for him, perhaps we'll look at Deauville or Chantilly. An exciting colt for his syndicate.”
