ICE COLD IN ALEX brings up our 50th winner of the year at The Curragh for MPR Ireland

Sometimes there's a winner that has everyone grinning and on Friday, it was LEXINGTON TIMES who had that effect. He has been so close to getting his head in front for trainer Ruth Carr, when he left the stalls in last place, we all thought he would find it difficult to even be placed from there...but somehow, his jockey James Sullivan pulled a magic wand through the reins instead of a whip and steered Lex around and through the field to win by just under a length! He is just short of £100,000 of career earnings and this win was so well deserved for his loyal owners, well done to Ruth and to them all. On Saturday at The Curragh, ICE COLD IN ALEX brought up our 50th winner of the year and our first with Ken Condon. A tenacious sprinter, he came though the field to take the £14,000 first prize and be crowned the first official winner of MPR Ireland, managed by Charlotte Holmes. She was delighted and says she can't wait for the rest of the team to hit the race course. See the full result and watch the replay here: http://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Curragh/29-July-2017/1605
