OUR 25th WINNER OF 2021: HOWZER BLACK, trained by Keith Dalgleish and ridden by Callum Rodriguez: 'The Mansionbet Proud to Support British Racing Handicap ' over 1m 1/2f at Hamilton.

If ever a horse deserved to be standing in the winner's position after a race, it's the likeable Howzer Black! He and Callum have partnered six times this year, with his 8 race results in 2021 reading: 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 5th, 3rd, 2nd and now 1st. This win; the 5th of his career, has taken him to over £50k of prize money won.

Timeform awarded him a career best rating of  90 and say: "Proved at least as good as ever and gained just reward for a string of consistent efforts this year, albeit having enjoyed the run of the race; made all, travelled fluently, kicked on 2f out, always holding on, got first run; should remain competitive."

Syndicate manager Mike says: "Well done to his owners on a very much deserved win for him. The race just set up nicely for him and the lack of pace in the race meant that they left him alone on the front end and Callum judged the ride very well. He was very game in the final couple of furlongs and he was going away from them in the final 100 yards. We'll give him a couple of weeks before looking for something else for him, but we can all enjoy the fact that he has been providing his syndicate with great fun!"
