High and Mighty

Winner 67 of 2024: OUR MIGHTY MO, trained by Karl Burke and ridden by Clifford Lee: ‘Leisure Connect WiFi Approved Suppliers 2-Y-O Series Final Nursery Handicap’ over 6f at Hamilton.

After a very respectable run in the valuable Harry’s Half Million Sales Race during the Ebor Meeting at York where he picked up plenty of prize money, we thought the step up in trip on his nursery debut (stiff 6f) could see another improvement from this genuine colt.

The son of Kodiac broke well in the centre of the course, tracked leaders, and led narrowly 1 furlong out, before being challenged by the eventual 2nd placed horse. Our Mighty Mo showed a brilliant attitude and battled all the way to the line to hold on and mark his first victory in the competitive 2-year-old series final. With the fantastic prize money on offer, Our Mighty Mo's success takes our earnings beyond £1,4 Million for 2024.

Timeform rated his maiden success with an 82, saying:"Close up, driven over 2f out, switched under 2f out, led near line."

Syndicate Manager Mike said after the race: "Huge well done to his owners! After a great run in the Harry's Half Million at York and couple of luckless runs prior to that, he fully deserved this victory, and the great prize money on offer. He has shown a fantastic attitude, and found plenty under pressure. We thought he would enjoy the stiff 6f, and as so many others by his sire Kodiac, he seems very versatile ground wise."
