Harome wins well at Ayr
Mon 08 Jul 2019
The Roger Fell trained Harome has been competing in feature sprint handicaps with credit in recent weeks, giving his owners some fun along the way.
Yesterday he took the 6f Sprint at Ayr in fine style, finishing with ears pricked – as you can see in the winners’ photo! He has his quirks before his races and at the stalls, but is talented and travelled through to win comfortably under Ben Curtis.
Roger kept him at the track and ran him today up in grade over 5 furlongs, under a 5lb penalty (so off a mark of 90). He ran another sold race to take a close 2nd - again under Ben.
Well done to his owners.
He is in the £100,000 Class 2 heritage handicap at Ascot on Saturday, so we will see how he is and also whether he gets in under his mark. We also have COPPER KNIGHT and WEDDING DATE entered in this race.
