WINNER 63 OF 2021: GREEK KODIAC, trained by Michael Bell and ridden by Dylan Hogan (-3): 'The tote.co.uk Now Never Beaten by Sp Handicap ' over 1m at Chelmsford .
Having a first try on the Chelmsford surface (which, having been re-waxed, was riding on the slow side), he was drawn wide. It was also a first time that Dylan Hogan was in the saddle.
Jumping well, Dylan got him across without having to do too much and he ended up making virtually all, unchallenged! He was two lengths clear coming around the home bend, then began to idle and when another horse came into his peripheral vision on the outer, he digged in and pulled away again. He kept on well inside the final furlong and as The Racing Post say, was "always doing enough."

Timeform gave him a p77 rating, which is a joint top rating that he has attained since joining Michael. They say: "back on all-weather/back in headgear, bounced back from a couple of lesser efforts, posting one of his better efforts in a race that saw him to maximum effect; dictated, shaken up over 2f out, kept on, had the run of the race.”
Dylan said in his Racing TV interview: "He's been keen in his last few races but jumped well from the outside stall and I got him over without doing too much and he got an easy lead. I kicked on at the 3-pole and he waited for something to come to him, as he was idling in front, but stayed on. In fact after the line when another horse came to him, he wanted to go again!”

Syndicate manager Tim says: "”For a 5k purchase, from the Tattersalls February sale, his second win, on top of two 2nd places and a 3rd, has covered his purchase price very nicely. So well done to Michael and to Greek Kodiac's owners. Since Saturday, we have had a winner a day, so there have been plenty of race prizes shared out between owners on the winners podiums! Seeing so many now going racing and of course being back in the paddock and patting their horses after the race is something we have been missing."
