Grasmere gets her win at Chelmsford
Fri 05 Oct 2018
She has been knocking on the door this year, with three finishes in the winners enclosure and yesterday was her day! Returning to Chelmsford under apprentice Darragh Keenan, she was held up in touch in midfield, travelling nicely in the 1m 2f race. Darragh shook the reins and she responded to close, but didn't get a clear run over 2f out. She was switched right and ridden to chase the leader over 1f out, and went on to lead inside the final furlong. She kept on well under pressure and was ridden out to win by over a length. It was lovely to see Darragh giving her lots of deserved pats after the line!
Well done to her owners and her trainer Alan Bailey and thanks to Darragh for a good ride.
She brought up our 79th winner of the year-so 6 left now to reach the 1,000!!
