WINNER 21 OF 2024: ZIGGY'S MISSILE, trained by Robert Cowell and ridden by Silvestre De Sousa: The feature 'Download The Raceday Ready App Handicap' over 5f at Southwell.

In fantastic form this year, his last three finishes have been 1st, 1st and 2nd (in a photo) with the market having him as favourite here.

Breaking sharply, he travelled strongly on the front. Shaken up approaching the final furlong, he ran on well, despite edging left inside the final furlong, to win comfortably by 1 and 3/4 lengths.

Timeform rated it as a career best 98 performance, saying: "Only just denied at Newcastle last time, resumed progress to get back to winning ways; made all, ridden over 1f out, edged left, ran on; he's got a nice way of going and there's no reason why he shouldn't be equally effective back on turf."

Robert Cowell says: "Ziggy’s Missile was flawless yesterday at Southwell. He broke well out of the gate and was quick into stride and showed his rivals a clean pair of heels as they approached the final furlong. It was a decisive win, and it appears that he is improving at a decent rate with every race.  Silvestre said he reached for his girths a furlong out however, he didn’t blow a huge amount after the race as he is fit as a fiddle having only run 9 days previously. He has now earned himself a little break, and we’ll look into some nice races on the turf over the next month."

Syndicate manager Tim, says: "Many congratulations, again, to his owners and well done to Robert and his team. Great to have SDS back in the saddle for us, riding winners. We had a great AW Championship season; resulting in 28 AW winners. That would put us at the top of the 'Leading Owner' table if our horses were grouped together as one ownership, but were happy with the results!"
