'Fantastic Friday' sees Timoshenko get his five-timer in The Archerfield Cup
Sat 11 Aug 2018
As we close in on 1,000 winners, there are few horses racing this season who have done what TIMOSHENKO managed yesterday! Our 3 year old son of the late Archipenko has had a phenomenal season. Described by Tim as "a giraffe-he is so big" his owners had shown great patience as he has been brought along slowly by Sir Mark Prescott having four starts as a 2 year old and still being unfurnished. Put "into a field" to build him up, he returned after 249 days off on July 3rd at Chepstow over 1m 4f and won. The rest as they say, is history! (You can see his Racing Post form card in the gallery.)
Yesterday at Musselburgh he went up in grade to the feature race of the day; the Class 2 Archerfield Cup and under what was quite a marvellous ride by Luke Morris won his fifth race in a row. His owners are having just the most marvellous time and you can see those who travelled north in the photo proudly holding the trophy and their winners champagne.
Earlier at Wolverhampton GOOD TYNE GIRL won her second race for Richard Fahey. She has been a fun filly for her leaseholders, who simply pay a monthly training fee to go racing as one of her 'owners' as she races in our colours on behalf of her registered owner.
Well done to all owners. We had a great day overall, with two 2nd places from MAGICAL WISH and FAST ENDEAVOUR and a 3rd from LEXINGTON EMPIRE.
This means we are now very close to the £1 million of race prize money won and now need 23 winners to reach 1,000 since we were formed.
