Fabulous Friday brings two winners and two 2nd places!

We thought our runners had chances yesterday, but to come away with two wins and two second places was super!  

David O’Meara’s STAR SHIELD got his head in front at Doncaster after some very unlucky runs this season-so very well deserved under a Danny Tudhope drive.

Speaking of unlucky runs, ICE COLD IN ALEX just couldn’t get a gap when he needed it at The Curragh. Fran Berry and Ruby Walsh talked more about his run on Racing TV after the race, than the winner, as when he could get out of the pocket he was in, he moved from 11th to 2nd in the final furlong! 

In the evening at Chester, the Richard Hannon trainer SESAME BIRAH was having her second start, after finishing 2nd on debut over 6f. This time she was up in trip to 7f and Danny had made the drive across from Doncaster for the ride, which worked, as she won nicely! The remaining shares in her were, understandably quickly snapped up.

COPPER KNIGHT was hoping to defend his crown in the £50k Gosforth Park Cup at Newcastle under top weight. He ran a cracker to finish 2nd, giving the winner 17lbs! He has an entry in the Group 2 King George Qatar Stakes at Goodwood and the Group 1 Nunthorpe at York in his summer diary. 

We have now passed £500,000 of prize monney won this year, so a great few days - can we end the week with another winner this weekend? Well done to all owners.
