Demurrer makes all to win at Lingfield
Thu 12 Jul 2018
Demurrer took the opener at Lingfield yesterday in taking style. He and Oisin Murphy were sent off joint favourite and they made all to win by 1 1/4 lengths. He sent him on 3f out, and was 3 lengths clear over 1f out, with his lead reduced near the finish but he was never seriously challenged.
He has clearly come away from his winter break and gelding operation in fine form. He looked very well in the paddock (see the gallery) and really enjoyed the going and trip, even though this was his first run on turf. This was also his first time over a mile, but Michael Bell had been very happy with his work at home and the race proved the perfect starting point to his season.
It was a super day for Oisin, who rode 5 winners-well done!
