Cheers to Double Martini!

1m Class 6 Handicap - Newcastle.
After a frustrating day on Wednesday when both our intended runners had their races abandoned at the last minute due to the floodlights failing, it was very nice to be back at Newcastle with a winner yesterday, thanks to our Roger Fell trained DOUBLE MARTINI!
Since we purchased him at the Tattersalls July H-I-T sale, Roger has been testing out his ideal trip. Trying the mile for the first time, we seem to have hit the bullseye! It was a well judged ride by Ben Curtis, who notched up a treble on the day and is in excellent form!
The combination of up in trip and down in grade worked nicely. His syndicate manager Mike says: "I thought he did well from his track position, given the slow fractions that they were running on and Ben said that he had to make his effort earlier than he wanted to as he was afraid that they would skip away from him off the front if he left it any longer. He looks a galloping type who could get even further in time but we’ll keep to a mile at the moment and explore with him up further in trip later down the line. There are a few options for him over course and distance and we’ll see what mark the handicapper gives him on Tuesday."
Well done to his owners on his first win for us yesterday. See the official photos here: https://www.grossick.co.uk/v/photos/80532khg/C362379404/x2-double-martini
