WINNER 94 OF 2023: BRAVE EMPEROR trained by Archie Watson and ridden by Luke Morris: The Group 3 and feature '103rd Grosser Preis Der Landeshaupstadt Dusseldorf' over 1m 1/2f (1,700m) at Dusseldorf.
Another fantastic weekend away for his owners - this time at one of the most picturesque of racecourses, at Dusseldorf. He was supplemented for this race and immediately was put at the top of the market.
Drawn on the outer, in 7, Luke chased him up to get a prominent position and he settled into 2nd, as they came to the first bend. Chasing the leader down at the 400m marker, he ran on to take the lead with 200m to go, then edged clear to win by 3/4 of a length, without Luke needing to get too serious.
This was his fifth win of the year, after winning another Group 3 in Germany, a Group 3 in Deauville, a Listed race in France and a Conditions race at Kempton and it was a double celebration, as he became our 1,500th winner since we were formed. Is there a better candidate with his exploits around Europe this year, to be the horse that marks this event?

Luke was interviewed after the race and said: "The plan was to follow Parol as he can keep going at a good pace, so I had the perfect trip round. He has had a super year."
Timeform rated it as a career best 115 performance, with their comments, as follows: "Had met several of these in his last race, but they didn't include Calif, the winner that day, meaning Brave Emperor barely had to improve to prevail; chased leader, second home turn, soon driven, headway under 2f out, led 1f out, went 1¼ lengths up and kept on well before runner-up rallied."
Syndicate manager Tom says: "Well I said in his owner preview on the morning of the race, that it would be fitting for Brave Emperor to be our 1,500th winner and by golly that was nice to watch! He is just a hero and loves his racing. It's extremely rare for a horse to win three Group 3 races in a year, so thank you to Archie and his team- especially Louie who travelled with him and to Luke for such a successful partnership with Brave Emperor. Archie and I do have some further plans for him; this time in Italy for a Group 2 in November. But for now, it's yet another well done to his syndicate of owners."

SHOULDVEBEENARING continues his top level race exploits.
We were back at ParisLongchamp on Arc Day - a year to the day that The Platinum Queen, won the Group 1 Prix de l'Abbaye. Another of our star horses this year, SHOULVEBEENARING, lined up in the Group 1 Prix de la Foret. We had supplemented him also and that proved a good move as he ran a fantastic race to take 3rd and over £35k, to add to his ever burgeoning CV.
