A double at Leicester today
Thu 20 Jul 2017
A busy few days between today and Sunday, with some exciting days racing for owners coming up. Today we celebrated a double at Leicester courtesy of MAJOR CORNWALLIS and VENTURA KNIGHT, with four other horses placing 3rd, giving us a 60% win/place ratio.
Major Cornwallis thrilled his loyal owners when he prevailed under Tony Hamilton, for Richard Fahey and as you can see from the photograph, looks very pleased with himself. Ventura Knight belied his 10 stone top weight under Silvestre De Sousa to bring up his hat-trick of impressive wins. Mike, his syndicate manager says "we would like to see him race at the Qatar Goodwood Festival or perhaps take in the Listed Washington Singer Stakes at Newbury. I'll speak to Mark (Johnston) and come up with a firm plan, but he has been a super 2 year old for his owners to be involved in."
The next three days see featured races for SIMMY'S COPSHOP at Newbury in the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes on Friday, LEXINGTON GRACE and LADY ANJORICA in the Super Sprint on Saturday and DE BRUYNE HORSE, who heads to Maisons-Laffitte on Sunday for the Group 2 Prix Robert Papin, a race we have won previously with Kool Kompany.
