A Charming Win!
Tue 10 Aug 2021
WINNER 62 OF 2021: WOODLANDS CHARM, trained by Nigel Tinkler and ridden by Rowan Scott: 'The Best Odds Guaranteed At ne-bet.com Nursery ' over 6f at Ripon.
There's an often used term in racing; "the penny dropped" and we think that's a fair summary of the way Woodlands Charm has progressed, through her five starts prior to lining up at Ripon last evening. Having her second start in handicap company, she ducked to the right at the start, but held a prominent position, chasing the leader. Rowan gave a shake of the reins and she moved into the lead just over 1f out, keeping on nicely to win by 3/4 of a length.

Timeform reported: "Showed much improved form to get off the mark on just her second start in nurseries, no element of fluke about it either despite her SP, beginning her challenge away from the other principals, who raced closer to the stand-side rail; close up, raced freely, ridden over 2f out, led over 1f out, driven out.”
Rowan said in his Sky Sports Racing interview: "She handled the undulations well and travelled nicely for me and picked up when I asked her. She is progressing with every run and could go and win again.”

Syndicate manager Tim says: "Three winners in 3 days, after COLD STARE won at Haydock on Saturday, MENSEN ERNST destroyed the field by 5 lengths at Aurillac in France on Sunday and yesterday the filly outran her odds. Congratulations to her owners on her "Ripon Ladies Night" victory. We did suggest it may just happen and she did it nicely. Hopefully there’s another win or two in there. We must thank Ripon for going above and beyond to allocate extra owners badges and we are grateful that so many of her syndicate were able to be there to celebrate their win together. There's a video that shows them looking very happy in the winners' enclosure below!”
