All Weather Bonuses & AW Finals Day here we come - hopefully!

A year ago, almost to the day, Richard Hannon rang to recommend a horse that he’d bought back at the sales - the horse in question was BOSH. We thought long and hard but decided against purchasing him - well, in the next 4 months alone, BOSH earned around £60,000 in prize money, winning two races (including on AW Finals Day at Lingfield) and placed a further 4 times. Having learned from our mistake, in not accepting the recommendation, we suggested that, should he ever have a similar horse, please do make a further recommendation to us - and that’s what Richard has done!

The horse in question is WALLOP - a 4yo son of Harry Angel, bought back at the Horses in Training Sale last week by Richard for 7,000gns.

There’s no way I was letting him go for that kind of money” Richard says and continues: “he’d not been moving great all year, so I switched him yards” - Richard Hannon has two yards, Everleigh & Herridge - 6 miles apart - “and he’s moving great, he’s thrived for the move. He’s dangerously well-handicapped now and ready to run. I want to run him at the weekend” Richard concludes.

Furthermore, Richard is insistent upon keeping 25% for himself, given the guilt-edged opportunity he sees Wallop is offering us all. He wants to be in for the upside.

Enough said. We won’t make the same mistake twice and miss out on another potential money-spinner.

We’ll run him over the Winter, picking up as many prizes and prize monies as possible - there are numerous AW Champs bonuses on offer this Winter and we’ll also have one eye on AW Finals Day, Good Friday. Harry Angel’s progeny seem to act very well on the AW - WALLOP himself is a Kempton winner, having finished 5th in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes the time before shedding his maiden tag at the Sunbury track.

We’ll either sell him at the end of the AW season, or if he’s more than earning his corn, and like BOSH, taking us to some fancy tracks, Saturdays & Festivals, we may keep him until July 2025 or represent for sale at the October horses in training sale 2025 - that’s a decision for his owners at the time.

He’s a very well-handicapped, exciting prospect, and as important as anything, instant action - he’s ready to rock ‘n’ roll, as early as this weekend. There’s a HUGE potential upside, with very little downside.
